Many organizations provide opportunities to learn , explore and experience the prairie. Browse the various listings below for more information on their programs and missions.

Nebraska Game & Parks Commision:   The mission of the Nebraska Game and Parks Commission is stewardship of the state’s fish, wildlife, park, and outdoor recreation resources in the best long-term interests of the people and those resources.

The Nature Conservancy:  The mission of The Nature Conservancy is to preserve the plants, animals and natural communities that represent the diversity of life on Earth by protecting the lands and waters they need to survive.

Spring Creek Prairie Audubon Center:   Spring Creek Prairie Audubon Center fosters the understanding, appreciation, and conservation of Nebraska’s tallgrass prairie ecosystem by engaging people in the site’s natural and cultural resources.

Northern Prairies Land Trust:  The mission of Northern Prairies Land Trust is to enable private landowners in South Dakota and Nebraska to conserve lands for habitat preservation, agriculture, ranching, water resource protection and enhancement, and cultural and historical protection.

Prairie Plains Resource Institute:   Maintaining and restoring Nebraska ecosystems – creating opportunities for education, research, stewardship and community development.

Nebraska Nature & Visitor Center:  Open year round. Monday-Saturday 9-5pm

Nebraska Master Naturalist:  The Nebraska Master Naturalist Program provides more than 60 hours of science based natural resources training taught in the field by Nebraska’s best and brightest.

Iain Nicholson Audubon Center at Rowe Sanctuary:  Unique outdoor, experienced-based education for children , families and adults.

Earth Partnership for Schools:  Our mission is to conserve and restore Arboretum lands, advance restoration ecology, and foster the land ethic.

Prairie Loft:  Prairie Loft’s mission is to teach agriculture appreciation, outdoor education, cultural traditions, and the wise use of natural resources.

School of Natural Resources- University of Nebraska at Lincoln:  The School of Natural Resources will be an international leader in natural resources education, research, and outreach. The School will also be the primary provider of natural resources information and service to the citizens and stakeholders of Nebraska.

Green Hearts Institute for Nature in Childhood: An Omaha, NE based conservation organization that speaks, teaches, writes and consults about nature play and how it can be restored to childhood.
